“Creating change is what we do”

Adacado has the most technically exciting work environment in Vancouver, Canada, no, the world… and just in case, the moon and Mars (unless Elon Musk builds a sweet base there).

Working with Kubernetes, Vue, Go, JavaScript, micro services and processes designed around what we do means we are Agile. We realize functionalities fast, and provide the challenge you always wanted. It is about creating great code with an even greater team.

We are a Multicultural team, we speak many languages, from Dutch to JavaScript, Croatian to Vue and we do not shy away from a challenge.

We believe in what we create, and value our creators by providing them with good compensation, liberal time off, flexible in-office requirements, education, coaching and stock options.

Outside of that we have a great company culture where spontaneous nerf battles settle department disputes, board games reveal your colleague’s cunning tactics, and where free Friday lunches offer ample fuel for the challenges to come. We also organize semi-annual week-long team building events and always have a stocked fridge full of snacks, beverages and fruits (we are trying this whole healthy thing out).

Other things you should expect:

- 100% automated testing
- CI/CD done the right way
- Source code management system with place for your personal projects
- Hallway testing
- Code reviews
- Design reviews
- Fast paced development

Where else would you be part of a team creating an 80+ microservice environment from scratch in 6 months, deploying code to production the same day and all this on your second day at work!

Positions

Entry Level Developers

You are finishing your Bachelor degree, or a code camp and want to show us what you can do.

We are open to it. We have a fully developed coaching program to get you working with real production code, immediately. Our Entry Level Developers add production code within a few days of starting in our environment (What you write goes to production!, no dummy projects, all real changes and project contributions). Your energy and progress will determine how long it takes you to become a Junior Developer (time frame 2-6 months).

Junior Developers

You have 6 months’ experience and now you really want to contribute to a team.

Adacado is the place for you. You will add code to our code base within days using languages and frameworks aimed at teamwork. Teamwork means faster growth. Faster growth leads to more exciting projects.

Intermediate Developers

You have minimum 3+ years programming (preferably Golang or ES6) experience and want to work in a fast paced environment with more responsibilities.

Adacado is looking for programmers to enrich our development skill pool and help take our application to the next level, innovatively and technically. You will take part in making technical designs in line with our architecture, all the while coaching and working with juniors and interns. You will own and realize the functionalities you designed, from end to end, and deliver them to production, within the requirements of our technical architecture.

“Fail often, fail fast.”

The Adacado SAAS platform (and its roadmap) creates many interesting technical challenges. Adacado is built on Kubernetes, Golang, Vue, and ES6, and utilizes Node, Postgres, Kafka, Aerospike, and ElasticSearch. We manage an ever growing army of microservices (80+ unique across 300+ deployments) with special care in making our applications performant, available, and scalable.

The Adacado Team

Everyone at Adacado believes in our product, making our group close knit. We live through our trials and tribulations together (often over great Vancouver craft beer or other libations). Our staff are our most valuable resource.

We provide our team members with competitive compensation with benefits and stock options, liberal time off, flexible work hours and telecommuting, and a generous skills-development/education budget. All developers also receive a standup-desk, dual monitors, and a nerf gun (yes, a nerf gun).

Adacado is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, close to public transit. Everyday is casual day in the office and we provide a fully stocked kitchen with snacks. We also serve lunch hot and fresh every Friday, and have in-office craft beer and wine parties and bi-annual company retreats.

Location

This is role will be based in our Vancouver office and applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. Remote applicants WILL NOT be considered.

“Creating Change is what we do.”

Adacado is looking for expert programmers to enrich our development skill pool and help take our application to the next level, innovatively and technically.
