MAPPING PRODUCT DATA WITH THE PIXEL

MAPPING PRODUCT DATA WITH THE PIXEL

Once the pixel has been implemented, it’s the fastest and most effortless way to load real-time product data into your Advertiser.

Loading the mapper

Navigate to the mapper to start mapping!

1.

To begin, click Edit next to the Advertiser name in the Advertiser drop down at the top of your screen.

2.

Click Data Source on the left of your screen.

3.

Under ‘How can we get your data?’, select “Let Adacado grab product data with some code on my website.”

4.

If you haven’t already implemented the pixel code on the Advertiser’s website, do so now. To access the pixel, scroll to the bottom of the page (starts with <script async id=”), and implement it on the Advertiser’s website (detailed instructions on pixel placement coming soon).

Mapping the data

You’ve implemented the pixel, now it’s mapping time!

1.

Copy the URL of a product page from the Advertiser’s website and paste it into the Your Sample Product Webpage field.

2.

Click Load. This may take a few seconds.

3.

You should see the product webpage load into the sample browser.

4.

If the system detects any product data fields, they will map automatically. Always review to make sure it was mapped correctly.

5.

To map a field that wasn’t mapped, or to re-map a field that was mapped incorrectly, click Map it next to the field name.

6.

Once you hover over the sample webpage, your mouse pointer should turn into crosshairs. Hover the crosshairs over the corresponding text or image on the sample webpage.

7.

When hovering, you should see thin, diagonal orange lines appear over the desired field. If the orange lines and the preview box don’t show up, then that specific element cannot be used for mapping.

8.

When only the desired text or image is selected, click it. If successful, a sample of the mapped data will appear in the Point to Your Data tab, the crosshairs of your mouse will return to the normal pointer, and the Save button will shake.

9.

Continue to map all the available fields.

10.

Click Save Map.

Hot tip!
When you click Save, that product will save to the Advertiser’s list of products. Don’t worry if everything disappears after you click Save – it’s just the system committing those mapping changes to memory.
Note:
Like a first date from a dating app, sometimes things don’t go as well as we had hoped. If the mapper ain’t mapping or the scraper ain’t scraping, click the Hotjar feedback icon at the bottom right of your screen to give us an unhappy face and a note of exactly what went wrong. Our crack team of developers will get to fixing it in a jiffy.

Congratulations! You’ve mapped your product data and are ready for the scraper to send more (and more accurate) product info into the system!
